April 10: Meet We Vote

March 13, 2007

Help make our community a voting community.

Join the League of Women Voters Grand Rapids as we share details about and discuss opportunities to get involved in We Vote, the new project that is reintroducing the League of Women Voters to our community.

Tuesday, April 10, 2007
6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
YWCA, Hunting Lounge
25 Sheldon Blvd SE
Grand Rapids, MI 49503

Think you don’t have time to get involved?
The League of Women Voters believes attendance at a dozen monthly committee meetings shouldn’t be required to feel like you’re engaged in the community.

We Vote is intentionally designed to be project-focused. Yes, there will be regular team meetings — but you don’t have to be a part of the leadership to feel like you’re contributing. We believe in giving people access to opportunities that meet them where they are. If you can only volunteer for a day, thank you! If you can lead a team, great!

We believe that this approach is not only more efficient for some of our busier members, but it can also welcome new community members who might not otherwise get involved. So think about how much you can do. We look forward to seeing you on April 10 and helping you do it!

Think the democratic process is all about partisan politics?
The League of Women Voters is a nonpartisan organization. More specifically, We Vote is operated through the League of Women Voters Educational Fund, which has 501(c)(3) nonprofit status. We don’t care which names or party you choose once at polls. We care about the action that’s at the heart of our democracy: voting.

Join us. Let’s make our community a voting community.
Members and non-members of the League are invited to attend. Bring your friends to learn more and get involved.
